Jordana + Jordan

#&FLREALBRIDE FEATURE

THE JORDANA GOWN

Yup, you read that right! Our babe Jordana fell in love with mega-sweetheart Jordan, and if that’s not enough of a sign for you that this pair was meant to be, both they’re last names both start with D!

Jordana is the quintessential &FL bride, who wanted something cool, modern and different. As a soloist with The National Ballet of Canada, Jordana didn’t want her gown to feel restrictive or costume-y, so we created this sleek and stunning gown with a removable cape in a gorgeous ivory crepe fabric. Completed perfectly with a cool green wreath and a pair of rock’n sparkly heels, her handsome groom just couldn’t take their eyes off his bride, and neither could we.

JD2 FOREVER

*The JORDANA gown will be available in 2019. Please email us @info@andforlove.com for more details of the launch.

Describe you and your guy? How did you know he was The One?

Jordan and I met after matching on Bumble. I had said I would never date a “Jordan” and he said he wouldn’t say yes to a date with a woman with professional photos (which I had from dance). But yet, something drew us to each other. Our first date was 6 or 7 hours of non stop conversation. We covered topics that most would say are a “no no”, from religion to politics. It was so natural, like I had known him already. I straight away knew that he was someone who was so special. Each date we had was the same. It didn’t take long before I wanted to be with him everyday, to share everything with him. The feeling hasn’t changed even now that we are married.

Describe yourself: Your occupation, your usual streetstyle, things you love to do...

I’m a first soloist with the National Ballet of Canada. I think you could describe my street style as clean simple lines that I jazz up with my hair and personality. My go to everyday look would be a boxy shirt, high waisted jeans and if I’m not doing six hours of rehearsals then a pair of heels or wedges. I love to go out salsa dancing, crochet fun projects for friends, have charcuterie board picnics at home and trying new restaurants with my hubby.

What's your bridal style?

I wanted my dress to be the same idea as my street wear. I wanted clean lines that let “me” stand out. I also wanted something that was unique to me. &ForLove created something that I had never seen before and I loved it!

Describe your wedding- any inspiration or themes were your drawn to when planning? What was the vibe?

We wanted a laid back feel, the focus to be on the love of the day versus a flashy wedding (not that anything is wrong with flashy, but its not us). We wanted our family and friends to be apart of our ceremony and to celebrate with great food and dancing. Boxcar Social’s space was the perfect venue for us. It really has the atmosphere that we love. Brick walls, long wood family style tables, greenery and huge widows that look out to the lake. We barely had to do anything to the space!

Fave thing about your day? Any surprises?!
I loved how personal our ceremony was. We created our day to reflect Jordan and myself, a blend of JD Squared (our couple nickname). I loved the family feel of the reception afterwards too. The whole day felt so intimate, like a warm hug. Cheesy, but the truth!

What does marriage mean to you?
Marriage means growth, love and support. Knowing that you are by each other’s side, ready to experience what ever life brings.

What's the one piece of advice you could give to brides?
Your wedding day is about you and your hubby to be. Its how you want to express your love and commitment to each other. Your family and friends are there to support you. Let that guide you and let the stress melt away because no matter what happens on the wedding day it will be magical.

What does marriage mean to you?

A deeper level of love and commitment, mixed with the same daily life that we had before. Something changes, under the surface, and its hard to explain. Its a wonderful feeling.
